ABOUT

Good Caps began as a conversation between a group of New Zealand business owners, brought together by Plastics NZ. This group has a shared passion for sustainability and practical education for children around waste and recycling in Aotearoa New Zealand. While cap collecting is not a unique concept, it was an area in New Zealand without a dedicated recycling initiative in place.

The Good Caps pilot was designed as a tool to educate children about waste streams and the importance of waste recovery in Aotearoa New Zealand.

What the kids are saying …

Good Caps for Kidney Kids

The proceeds received from the Good Caps Programme go toward supporting the Lions Clubs’ charity partner, Kidney Kids NZ. Kidney Kids NZ believe in helping our kidney kids to ‘live the best lives possible’.

The caps and lids collected are sold to local reprocessors in Aotearoa NZ and made into fantastic new products. The money earned goes toward providing young people with kidney disease practical education support as well as some financial support for them and their whanua.

We wouldn’t be able to do this without our incredible partners…
